First off, they have the right to share their opinions (no matter how much I think they’re wrong), but I wish they’d change their name to the SPN Noisy Minority (oh, I’m so not clever).
I personally believe that the show has regressed and become weaker since after season five (which is why there are a lot of people who wish Season Five had been the last season, but I think there are new stories to tell yet) at least in my opinion it has. If you disagree, then that’s your opinion and you’re wholly entitled to it.
So, I’ll start by examining what they say on their blog page:
We are Supernatural’s Silent Majority. We are fans who have trusted the show for years and are upset by what we’ve seen as a decline in quality and loss of the Sam and Dean story.
You want to know why the ‘Sam and Dean story’ has declined in quality? Because there’s nothing else to tell.
Not to say that we shouldn’t see more of their brotherly bond etc. etc., but we already know pretty much everything about it. That’s why in a story you need metaphorical roadblocks, problems, and generally just bad things to push and and beat against characters and their relationships, goals, beliefs, intentions etc.
This causes (basically: things to happen) the characters to be put under stress about how to handle these new situations and problems, and thus these characters feel and do things they normally wouldn’t, so they’re changing, evolving. Then the characters will grow and expand, so we as viewers see new sides of these characters and their relationships, and how they would handle different situations.
We need stories, we need a plot, because if we don’t see bad things happening to characters and the problems they have to face, then the characters stay the same from the beginning to the end of the ‘story,’ and then the character hasn’t changed at all; hasn’t grown. Then we get no story.
Purgatory is a problem, a metaphorical (also quite literal) roadblock for these characters: Sam (even though he isn’t in it, it’s still a problem for him to get them back. Also, Sam being by himself on Earth will cause different problems and situations for him, and that’s not including him trying to get Dean and Cas back), Dean, and Cas. Purgatory, and probably all the things inside it, will cause problems for these characters, which (hello, this is the storyline) allows for the characters to change, whether it breaks them or not.
Why are you people so allergic to a plot?
We have every right to get our opinions heard.
True, you do. No one’s denying that.
This is a space intended for those opinions. Unhappy with the direction of the show this year?
I am, yes. This season was very poor. I’m glad we agree on something, at least.
Wondering what happened to the Winchester Brothers’ story?

Are you serious? Yeah, where did that Winchester storyline go to? Oh, wait… nowhere. That Winchester storyline has been part of Supernatural from Season One to Season Seven. And guess what? In Season Eight, it’s not going anywhere either. Sam and Dean’s brotherly bond and the story of their family will always be part of Supernatural, and to say otherwise is ridiculous.
Also, why do you think having Sam and Dean separated is a bad thing for their relationship? It’ll only make their relationship stronger. You don’t have to see them sewn at the hip to know they care and love each other. Sam will always love his big brother and Dean will always love his little brother, whether or not one of them is halfway across the world or in another world entirely.
There are Supernatural viewers who want the show to progress, not regress like the Silent Majority apparently wants it to. If this show doesn’t progress and grow, and its characters as well, then I can guarantee that it being cancelled is very possible and that it’d be one very poor and boring show: hence, Season Seven and, most of, Six.
So, c’mon people! Change is a good thing. This change is good for Sam, Dean, Cas, and (hopefully) other secondary and new characters as well.
Misha’s “flying penis” shirt appreciation post x
So yeah. That’s something that sucks. Some people thought it was funny I guess. That sucks too.

I’m probably going to delete this later
Wait… what? I’m so confused. Are these people serious? Do they think they’re funny or something? What? I’ve never seen this comment before.

pls Tash and I met misha Collins and Richard speight jr while at a gay club tonight nbd :-))))
Note the male dancer in the background.
Where’s Richard? I wanna see what Misha and Richard were doing…
There’s been lots of pictures and reports of Misha and Jared socializing outside of work and conventions but none of Jensen and Misha. When fans aren’t around they are never together.
Even at the latest JIBCON when Jensen was out…
OP is delusional.
- Furthermore, the owner of this blog will ignore the #silentmajority campaign, because it is ridiculous to claim you speak for more than half of the fandom. Proof? No, proof, so change your title, please.
- Yes, this blog ships Dean and Castiel with the force of a…
Yes, yes, yes to all of this.
I do not support this project in any way, and trust me, it would be better if we parted now rather than later.
Well Purgatory is where “monsters” go when they die it hasn’t really been well defined. The writers have a lot of leeway with who could show up there.

Basically, Dean and Cas are gonna have a lot of fun…
